Bufferbloat

Bufferbloat is lag caused by oversized network buffers holding packets during heavy use, spiking latency even on fast connections. It is why a big upload can wreck a video call on the same line. Modern routers with Smart Queue Management (SQM/fq_codel) largely fix it.
